The Journey

Our trips are guided, so you will get hands on support, guidance, hints & tips and coaching from our guides who will paddle along side you for the entire journey. You can benefit from as much, or as little input from our guides as needed, or desired.
With the option of a 2, or 3 day expedition on the River Wye we prioritise you travelling at your pace, enjoying your time outdoors, reconnecting with friends, family or kids, and enjoying the simple satisfaction of moving from place to place under your own effort. There is also something quite powerful about the self-efficiency of multi-day river trips.
We’ll paddle a carefully chosen section of river, typically 15–25 km per day, with regular breaks, hot drinks and coaching along the way. The evening is spent camping at a riverside campsite, with time to relax, socialise, explore locally or visit nearby pubs and cafés.
This trip is open to complete novices, intermediate and experienced paddlers. No prior experience is required — support and coaching are adapted to the group.

On the water

Simple manoeuvres and confidence-building techniques
Rescue practice, if you’d like to try it, in a controlled environment
Water confidence is desirable but not essential. We regularly support non-swimmers and work at a pace that feels safe and comfortable.
Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are provided on the river.
Where appropriate, participants may be issued with a Paddle UK ‘Start’ certificate, or a higher award if relevant skills are observed.

Transport to/from the expedition start/end point (we will work together as a team, in true expeditional style, to shuttle people, kit and vehicles to the appropriate locations)
Any personal medication
